Additional notes on this special Sunday TV Mass:

Since 1952, the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Washington has produced a weekly televised Mass for those who are homebound.

The 30-minute Catholic Mass is broadcast from the Basilica’s Crypt Church and is celebrated by priests from the Archdiocese of Washington and the Diocese of Arlington, featuring sacred liturgical music with a Cantor & Organist from the Choir of The Basilica.

The mission is to bring the blessings of Jesus Christ’s presence and love, through the broadcast, to the sick and those unable to leave their homes. The Sunday Mass if offered online and locally on TV, airing on WDCW-50 every Sunday at 10:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.

The Holy Mass is the greatest act of Evangelism the Church can offer the world. It is the heart of Catholic worship. The Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington D.C., is a Catholic Church, a National Shrine dedicated to the Blessed Mother, patroness of our nation. It is a place of prayer, worship, pilgrimage, evangelization, and reconciliation.
